How to get to Oxford from Heathrow Airport?

To get to Oxford from Heathrow Airport, there are multiple public and private transit options available, like a car, town car, rideshare, train, bus, or even the Heathrow Airport Taxi service. Of these options, we recommend either the Heathrow Express or taxi service.

Using the Heathrow Express

One of the most common methods to get to Oxford from Heathrow Airport is the Heathrow Express. First, take the Heathrow Express from the airport to Paddington Station. The express is a direct train that will take you about 15 minutes. Once you’re at Paddington Station, you will need to take the Underground (or “the Tube”) to Oxford Circus station. The Tube ride from Paddington to Oxford Circus takes about 45 minutes. From Oxford Circus station, it’s a short walk to Oxford Street, where you can catch a bus or taxi to your final destination.

The third option is to take the Heathrow Express from Heathrow Airport to Marylebone Station, and then take the Oxford Tube from London Marylebone Station to Oxford Circus Station.

Private Transportation

How do I drive from Heathrow Airport to Oxford?

If you need to drive from Heathrow Airport to Oxford by car, here are the directions:

  1. Head North on Terminal 5 roundabout toward Wright Way (0.1 miles)
  2. Follow M25 and M40 to A40 in Wheatley. Take exit 8 from M40 (36.8 miles)
  3. Follow A40 to A420 in Oxford and continue on to your destination (7.4 miles)
